Geospatial ICT infrastructure for agricultural machines and Farm Management Information Systems (FMIS) in planning and operation of precision farming
Project
Project code: 2810ERA079
Contract period: 01.03.2011
- 28.02.2013
Budget: 58,462 Euro
Purpose of research: Applied research
In the framework of the EU tender ICT Agri-eranet a consortium of six academic institutions applied for promoting the establishment of a spatial IC-technology based information infrastructure for agricultural machinery and farm management information systems. The components will be used for planning and conducting field operations in precision agriculture.
For the presented project proposal GeoRIF of the Chair of Geodesy and Geoinformatics extensions of the interpreter for spatial data are investigated. On the one hand the provision according to formalized rules is necessary, on the other hand, data from different sources need to be harmonized, both structurally and semantically, and integrated in the system. Recent developments (e.g ISO 191xx, agroXML, ISOBUS, INSPIRE, GDI-DE, Web 2.0 and OGC) will be taken into account.
The goal is to design and develop a service-oriented architecture (SOA) for retrieval and processing of management standards through the farm management standards and the farm software.
