Sensitivity monitoring of azoles in the framework of the EUROwheat-Project
Project
Project code: JKI-A-08-1219
Contract period: 01.05.2015
- 30.09.2015
Purpose of research: Applied research
Within a European ring project in several countries, the sensitivity will be investigated with the aim of establishing foundations for sustainable resistance management of fungicides to various wheat diseases such as Septoria Leaf Blotch and yellow and brown rust. A hugh amount of monitoring samples will be collected in this part of the project from different locations, than determined harmful pathogens, isolated and multiplied for further studies. Then, the sensitivity of these isolates should be investigated against a numerous of substances from azole group. This biotests are conducted under controlled conditions, the effectiveness will be assessed and EC50 values calculated. Parallel, the fungicide performance under natural infestation pressure is determined in field studies.
Through the knowledge of the regional occurrence of pests with decreasing sensitivity to the cereal fungicides and the information about the availability of authorized fungicide give the official advisory service the basic information for an integrated sustainable resistance strategy.
