Section overview
Description
BTL Bio-Test Labor GmbH Sagerheide was founded in 1993 and is settled in Sagerheide (Northern Germany, near Rostock). The Company has set its priorities on the development of methods and realization of examinations for the registration of pesticides and transgenic plants. BTL develops suitable methods for breeding target and non target organisms for determinations of impacts of pesticides and for studies on resistance or tolerance as well as for behavioural studies.
Activities
- Research
Coordinated projects
- Collaborative project: Analysis of temperature effects on the susceptibility of oilseed rape cultivars and genotypes to TuYV and pests (aphids) - subproject 1
- Collaborative project: Establishment of methods for the analyses of resistance of horticultural pests to pesticides for the development of a resistance management (RESI-GAB) - Subproject 1
- Development of knowledge on the biology of western corn rootworm (Diabrotica virgifera virgifera)
- Generation of the basics for the improvement of complex disease resistance of potato. Subproject A
- Improving the knowledge of the dynamics of the regulation sizes for pollen beetles with the aim of improving and refining the computer-based forecasting and decision support
- Potential alternative food plants for larvae of Diabrotica virgifera virgifera European Origins in Germany
- Species detection in Melighetes and the presence in Germany, claims and biological behavior of the existing resistance Meligethes species in rape
Involved in research projects
- Extraction of eggs of the quarantine harmful organism Diabrotica virgifera virgifera (Western corn rootworm) from soil samples
- Improving the knowledge of the dynamics of the regulation sizes for pollen beetles with the aim of improving and refining the computer-based forecasting and decision support
- Monitoring of sensitivity of rape pests
- RESISTVIR - Co-ordination of research on genetic resistance to control plant pathogenic viruses and their vectors in European crops
- Studies on chemically - ecologically mediated resistance in rapeseed against the pollen beetle Meligethes aeneus
