Center for Biomolecular interactions Bremen (CBIB)
Institution
Section overview
Description
The analysis of a rapidly increasing number of genomes (Genomics) and the expression patterns of the primary gene products (proteomics) to provide basic information important to build the proteins as a major substance class of the cell. For a comprehensive understanding of biological systems, it is necessary, however, the interaction of different macromolecules of the cell and their underlying structure-function relations in detailed. It is therefore expected that this area is such a growing importance both in basic research and applied research in the win. The work areas in biochemistry, microbiology and molecular and cell biology at the University of Bremen are represented, there is a pool, together with the significant contributions to this topic in teaching and research are delivered. To this fund to be able to use effectively and to achieve synergy to promote a 'Center for Biomolecular interactions in Bremen' (CBIB).
