Overcoming Replant Disease by an Integrated Approach
Project
Project code: JKI-EP-08-2238
Contract period: 01.12.2015
- 31.12.2018
Purpose of research: Applied research
Keywords: dysbiosis, replant disease, apple rootstocks
Project partner 10 investigates the changes in the soil microbial communities through the exudates of apple seedlings or rootstocks depending on the site and the plant growth developmental stage. Dynamic taxa will be identified. Another aim is to unravel the interaction of dominant dynamic taxa in ARD soil in comparison to control soils with newly planted apple rootstock or seedlings in a close collaboration with other partners. Based on the results of the first phase. soil management strategies will be developed for soil improvement, e.g. through an increased soil microbial diversity and an increased abundance of dynamic taxa to counterbalance the dysbiose hypothesized. The samples investigated will originate from joint central experiments and mainly cultivation-independent methods will be used.
