Collaborative project: Environmentally friendly thermal insulation system for food transport - Subproject C (UTITRANS)
Project
Project code: 281A702CNZ
Contract period: 01.12.2022
- 30.11.2024
Purpose of research: Applied research
Keywords: value chains, food safety, oil and fibre plants, packaging, multi-cycle systems, articles of daily use, remote/e-trading
The objective of the project is to develop thermal insulations for transport packaging of food and for the isolation of roll containers for food transport with the following characteristics: - made of alternative raw materials (to avoid the formation of microplastics based on mineral oil) - as an alternative for currently used EPS and EPP insulations - environmentally friendly - biodegradable The main focus of the project will be on the provision of thermal insulation packaging systems based on natural raw materials via the most optimal alternative and the highest efficiency regarding costs and manufacturing.
