The objective of the funding project was to develop a digital maintenance assistant for the optimal organisation and maintenance of agricultural machines. Therefore, a sensor system for recording the operating hours of PTO drive shafts was developed in close cooperation with the project consortium (Walterscheid GmbH, Aconno GmbH, Chair of Agricultural Systems Technology TU Munich) and examined in agricultural practice. The current practice of machine maintenance on farms was systematically investigated with regard to the potentials and savings in everyday operations. In the course of initial field tests, the benefits and acceptance of a digital maintenance assistant in everyday agricultural practice were demonstrated. The project was successfully completed with the development and production of a pilot series of the digital maintenance assistant and its successful validation under laboratory and field conditions.
