Project
Project code: BfR-BIOS-02-1329-039
Contract period: 01.09.2006
- 31.12.2007
Purpose of research: Applied research
By implementing council directive 2003/99/EC comparable data have to be collected, which are suitable to evaluate trends and sources of zoonoses, zoonotic agents and their characteristics. In 2007 detailed recommendations should be developed for the implementation of these requirements. Previous studies have shown that it is useful to select sentinel laboratories for the collation of representative data and collection of suitable isolates. This has to take into account the production structure for the most relevant food producing animal species. In the project, the sending in pattern and the specimen received of selected laboratories should be described quantitatively and a detailed characterisation of the laboratories prepared. This analysis should include the methods used for data entry and the level of detail of information which are collected in these laboratories.
