Collaborative project: Health monitoring in pregnant sows by electronic feeding station - subproject 1
Project
Project code: 2813700610
Contract period: 01.10.2010
- 30.09.2012
Budget: 60,583 Euro
Purpose of research: Experimental development
In two farms, each with about 300 sows (group housing, 2 electronic feeding stations EFS CallMatic), all treatments and the daily feeding order in the EFS were recorded. The sows visited the EFS in a repeatable feeding order. So, place numbers can be assigned automatically for each visit, sow respectively (from 1 to n). Changes in the individual place number can be used as a warning tool for health or other problems. On this basis, a software has been developed and integrated into the herd management software that registers the daily place number of each sows in the group. If a limit is exceeded an alarm is created. This software has been used and validated, so a marketable product has been developed for health monitoring as a result of research.
