Description

John Deere Works Mannheim is a subsidiary of Deere & Company. Worldwide Deere & Company employs about 56.600 people (2008) at 63 works and development centres in 20 countries. John Deere products are delivered to more than 160 countries. Outside the US there are 25.000 employees of whom 6.200 are in Germany. John Deere is the largest manufacturer of agricultural equipment in Germany with a total turnover of 2,88 mrd. €. John Deere’s agricultural products include tractors, combine harvesters, balers, planters/seeders, and sprayers. The company is also a leading supplier of construction and forestry equipment, as well as equipment for commercial and consumer applications (used in lawn, grounds and turf care). In addition to machines and equipment, John Deere product lines comprise agricultural system solutions and services as well as sensor systems. John Deere Works Mannheim became part of Deere & Company in 1956 and is the most important manufacturing, research and development site outside of the USA. Here, 46.000 tractors were produced in 2008. The export rate is above 80% and about two third of all exported tractors from Germany come from John Deere Works Mannheim.
