The aim of the project "Restflex” is to evaluate the suitability of agricultural residues for flexible biogas production. In particular, kinetic data on the degradation behaviour of selected residues that provide information about the specific application potential of agricultural residues will be determined. Furthermore, we will conduct simulation studies to identify optimal application scenarios of agricultural residues for flexible biogas production or power generation on demand. The data on degradation behaviour will be integrated into a resource database that is available at the DBFZ. The results of the simulation studies will be combined with existing data on biomass quantity potentials from the database. This allows creating recommendations to increase the use of agricultural residues for flexible biogas production or power generation on demand and to name preference regions in Germany.
