Evaluation of a precision spraying device for train track spraying

Purpose of research: Applied research
Aim of the research project is the evaluation of a precision spraying device for train track spraying which is equipped with an automatic detection system to figure out weed
ground coverage on the train tracks. Therefore, empirical experiments on a test track should be done using pieces of artificial turf of different sizes for the measurement of
different parameters being able to characterise the accurateness of the application. The parameters used are the sensitivity and accuracy of the detection system while
compiling an online weed map, the accuracy of the following application on target areas of different sizes, the extent of misdetection (false alarm, detection rate) as well as the
reproducibility of the results. The evaluation should be done for a train carried system as well as for an road/rail vehicle in order to figure out the influence of the carrier vehicle
on accuracy of the whole spraying procedure. The experiments will be carried out in Hungary.
