The ongoing digitalization of the food industry enables consumers to shop from anywhere at any time. Target group-oriented delivery systems and digital shopping baskets allow users to purchase food in a time-efficient and targeted manner in hectic everyday life. Customers may inform themselves about the product at home for as long and as intensively as they like and be sure that the desired product is available. Digitally generated orders in turn allow retailers to better predict product sales and reach customers via newsletters or similar marketing strategies. The aim of the project is to improve communication between producer and consumer and to facilitate the path into the digital future for both technology-affine and non-technical target groups. The area of product pre-ordering is considered a key element of the project but also information about a company and about products are supported by RegioBite. The use of future-proof technologies in connection with established concepts will make everyday life easier for the producer and open up new target groups as well as make regional producers more accessible to the consumer. With RegioBite, regional food traders receive a powerful system to manage their own products and orders. Consumers can use any Internet-enabled device to find out about the company and its products and place advance orders.
