Planning and decision-making aids for farm managers are being developed for sustainable and market-oriented organic husbandry of laying hens and broiler chickens, which supports the expansion and continuous improvement of these two branches. These information materials are based on existing publications and incorporate, as far as possible, new knowledge from ongoing projects. At the end of the project they will be available in practice. The evaluation criteria originate from economy, environment and animal welfare but also social aspects such as workload are considered. New knowledge, especially about the husbandry of dual-use lines and new breed crossings, is integrated by comparing origins of breeding and testing stations as well as origins of field tests.
