For years, the bird's populations in North Rhine-Westphalia are decreasing. One of the main reason for this negative trend is the decline of the insect's population. Due to EU-Guidelines, North Rhine-Westphalia is committed to stop this development and tries this by cooperative approaches and measures. The 'Hellwegbörde' is the biggest bird reserve and almost its whole area is cultivated agriculturally. To achieve the guideline's goals, there is a measurement plan for the bird's protection in which measures for the promotion of biodiversity are suggested. These measures aren't compatible with the farm's and the cultivation's requirements and for that reason are only accepted by the farmers to a small extent. Therefore, the implementation of the measures in the field, fails. To accomplish practicability, the aim of the project is, to develop solutions to combine both - the measures for biodiversity and the agricultural requirements. To achieve this goal, the existing measures should be refined and new measures should be tested.
