'Collaborative project: Development of a control module for automatic guidance of robot scrapers, devices for cleaning and scattering cubicles as well as selfdrive mixer feeders – Subproject 1'

Project

Project code: 28154T1510
Contract period: 01.04.2012 - 31.05.2015
Budget: 259,172 Euro
Purpose of research: Experimental development

The intention of the project is to develop a universal control module for automatic machine guidance in the field of indoor livestock systems and to install this module for exemplary use cases on specially designed platforms for manure removal from floors, cleaning and scattering of cubicles and for submission of roughage/concentrate mixtures. All this will be tested under compliance of the work safety and animal welfare. First step is to define the requirements for the platforms and the universal control module in a system specification, which is done by the Institute for Agricultural Engineering and Animal Husbandry in close cooperation with the project partners. The development of the universal control module will be done by the Institute for Agricultural Machinery and Fluid Power at the Technische Universität Braunschweig in close consultation with the companies Peter Prinzing GmbH and Hirl Misch- u. Anlagentechnik GmbH & Co. KG. In parallel the companies develop the mechanical components of the machines and deploy the necessary interfaces for the actuators. The whole development process is accompanied by testing and optimization steps. The ongoing review of the practicability of the products already during the development process, the evaluation of the systems and the coordination of the entire project will be done by the Institute for Agricultural Engineering and Animal Husbandry of the Bavarian State Research Center for Agriculture.
