VIP - Vorpommern Initiative for Paludiculture- sub-project 13: product development fireproof board
Project
Project code: 033L030R
Contract period: 01.09.2010
- 28.02.2013
Budget: 112,274 Euro
Purpose of research: Applied research
The feasibility of utilizing biomass from wet peatlands in flame resistant construction and insulation boards will be evaluated through examination of availability, quality and characteristics of raw material. Theoretical and experimental investigations will examine the possible applications (e.g. as panel core or as a component in the cover layer) of the biomass. The achievable product characteristics will be demonstrated, evaluated, and a proposal for integrating the processed raw material in the manufacturing process will be developed Furthermore, pre-examinations on the laboratory scale for product innovations developed in subproject 5/7 and 5/8 are part of this subproject.
