Project code: K/16/03
Contract period: 01.01.2017 - 31.12.2018
Purpose of research: Applied research

Cultivation area of permanent crops such as cup plant and sida grows slowly but steadily. These crops offer ecological advantages over one-year crops, such as the long bloom in high and late summer, soil and water preservation and a supposed increase of soil organic carbon due to soil rest and intensive rooting. When used as biogas substrates, digestate is produced, which should be recycled as valuable organic fertilizer. However, expert statements on digestate fertilization of these crops are not yet available.
