The project aims to optimise the nutritional situation for suckling pigs. In addition to an extended data acquisition regarding performance parameters of sows and piglets, the teats of lactating sows are photographed with a thermal imaging camera. These data are analysed and compared with the performance data. All data will be integrated into the sow planner and the selection criteria 'milk yield and longevity' will be developed as a decision aid for the livestock farmer.
