Project code: EIP-Agri-BW-2018-LPTPG
Contract period: 01.01.2018
- 31.12.2020
Budget: 450,260 Euro

Keywords: farming practice/activity, plant production and horticulture
In Baden-Württemberg the Esca disease is currently the major disease of the grapevine. For viniculture it is indispensable for developing innovative treatments to prevent plants from getting damaged by Esca disease in the future. The present project aims to develop and advance effective strategies to protect vineyards from Esca disease and remediate affected vineyards areas. These strategies include procedures to prevent infections via plant cut wounds and restauration of grape vine plants in affected areas. For developing practicable methods scientific investigations are executed in several areas: Early warning of decay, effective date and form of rebuild, influence of cultivars, wound protection against new infections, further cultivation of new trunks. The result of these examinations provides a basis for development of effective and efficient strategies and handlings. The evaluations take place in situ on model sites and developed for practice
