Purpose of research: Applied research
The aim of the proposal is to offer site-dependent and plant-specific solutions for the nitrogen issue by customising an existing DBFZ evaluation matrix as basement for process adaptions depending on the local nitrogen load and available nitrogen-poor, dry substrates (straw, green waste). By adjusting the process management and reducing the nitrogen content within in the digestate, the amount of nitrogen-rich agricultural residues for energetic utilization at biogas plants can be increased and the area to which the digestate is applied can be decreased compared to untreated manure.
