Project code: N/07/12
Contract period: 01.06.2007 - 30.11.2008
Purpose of research: Applied research

Minimisation of the content of ash forming compounds in rapeseed oil fuel is precondition for the application of particulate filter systems in vegetable oil compatible engines. It is the goal of this study to investigate different methods to reduce the content of phosphorus, calcium and magnesia in rapeseed oil fuel, that is produced in small-scaled oil mills, by adding substances such as bleaching earths, diatomaceous earths, cellulose and silica gel. Tets are conducted in laboratory and in practice The methods are assessed regarding technical feasibility and economical efficiency.
