Project

Project code: 2821OE003
Contract period: 15.06.2021 - 31.12.2021
Budget: 15,998 Euro
Purpose of research: Applied research
Keywords: organic farming, digital world, crop protection, plant health, data collection, information-communicationtechnology, training, education, biological plant protection

The aim of the project is the continuous updating and expansion of the online identification aid for harmful organisms 'Pflanzendoktor' with video pest/beneficial insect portraits. The focus of the work in this project phase is to be placed on a new learning platform with which the user can further educate himself independently in the area of plant protection in organic farming. For this purpose, the recognition of harmful organisms and the possibilities of biological control with beneficial organisms will be trained and the various application methods for the application of beneficial insects are also illustrated in practice - e.g. drone, scattering, spraying, blower. The rhigt selection of ladybugs, lacewings, hoverflies, gall midges, predatory bugs, earwigs, predatory mites and nematodes to control pests in protected cultivation is one objective of this training. Beneficial insects should be selectable via a filter system and with the help of picture boards. Already produced videos from the previous projects and already existing pest portraits are to be perfectly linked with the help of this learning platform, in order to deal actively, in a playful way with the alternatives to chemical-synthetic plant protection. The playful handling of this topic is to be further promoted by special video animations. Furthermore, questions on the four topics: preventive measures of pest control, physical measures, biological-biotechnical measures and application of natural plant protection agents are formulated, which are answered by means of a multiple choice test.
