PreciseNitrogen: An novel sensor system for precise nitrogen application based on IoT-sensor networks and image analyses (PreciseNitrogen)
Project
Project code: EIP-Agri-Ni-2020-PPGDB
Contract period: 01.01.2020
- 31.12.2022
Budget: 469,024 Euro
Purpose of research: Applied research
Keywords: plant production and horticulture, fertilisation, soil
The project Precise Nitrogen investigates a novel sensor system for precise nitrogen application based on IoT-sensor networks and image analyses. It aims at optimizing resources use in nitrogen fertilization to enhance resource efficiency using the example of wheat cropping. With the help pf sensor data a better decision-making will be facilitaed. For this purpose, a cost-efficient in situ-sensor network for microclimate detection within the field will be established and specific recommendations for nitrogen application will be derived from this data. Along with that, it is seeked for establishung an open interface to synthesize sensor data, satellite images and management data within a farm-management-system.
