The aim of the project is the development, testing, technical optimization and creation of application recommendations of alternative measures of haulm desiccation in potatoes in conventional and ecologic production. In ecologic potato production existing problems with thermic-mechanic desiccation are in focus, in conventionell production the ending permission of Deiquat (Reglone). Two new methods should be adapted: the ElektroSiKa-system, a new method using electrical power, and a method using Haulm pluckers / root cutters, wich is new in the German market. The existing haulm desiccation systems on three farms will be evaluated, the new technics tested in the field and integrated in a new system. Project partners are 3 farmers, the test-station Dethlingen and the chamber of agriculture Lower Saxony.
