Purpose of research: Applied research

Urban gardening leads to a variety of garden manifestations, which can also be seen as heterotopias for food production outside the city.
A typology of gardens from the perspective of food production should express what is considered essential and work out common features between gardens. From a horticultural point of view, taking into account the ecological location conditions, development potentials become clear that can give urban planning approaches for the further development of a sustainable, participatory green infrastructure.
The collection of traditional control strategies for pests in the different gardens and the suggestion of new methods simultaneously develop food production and include the ornamental plants as elements that promote biodiversity.
