Based on the eight specialist and production-related fields of action of the Arable Farming Strategy (Discussion Paper on the 2035 Arable Farming Strategy of German Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture), (1) Soil, (2) Crop diversity and crop rotation, (3) Fertilisation, (4) Plant protection, (5) Plant breeding, (6) Digitalization, (7) Biodiversity and (8) Climate change adaptation, the model and demonstration project 'Demonstration farms for integrated crop production in arable farming' will encourage project participants and participating farms ('demonstration farms') to implement and demonstrate innovative and practicable new measures and production processes on the farms, which without funding would not be introduced into agricultural practice or would be introduced with considerable delay. The JKI Institute for Strategies and Technology Assessment is responsible for the overall coordination of the project and provides scientific support.
