Purpose of research: Applied research
The results of the 'Inter-Departmental Center of Sustainable Agriculture' in North Rhine-Westphalia (started in 1985) shall be forwarded to the appropriate target group. Hence, precondition and therefore a central task is coordination and execution of running research projects and development of new projects that reflect current developments and conditions. Different methods are applied and various events are organised, in pursuit of the desired flow of information. Among these are the organization of scientific symposia, workshops, discussion boards for the exchange between scientists, consultants and user, conversation with the press and brochures as specific information for theory and praxis.
Furthermore the project 'Wissenstransfer' secures the management of the “Forschungsnetzwerk NRW-Agrar”. The MUNLV initiated the network. This corresponds to the claim for the agricultural research in NRW to enhance the regional cooperation of research institutions, witch was mentioned repeatedly in the discussion about agricultural research during the past years, e.g. in the recommendations of the “Wissenschaftsrat” for the advancement of agricultural sciences in Germany. The “Forschungsnetzwerk NRW-Agrar”, which is supported by this project, makes an important contribution to the positioning of the agricultural research in North Rhine-Westphalia on a national and european level.
