Purpose of research: Applied research
Due to increasing commodity price fluctuations, a detailed risk management strategy for agricultural farms is becoming increasingly relevant. This is additionally reflected by the shifting focus of the “Zukunkftskommision Landwirtschaft 2020” and the “Agrarministerkonferenz” held in Plön 30th of April 2010. The “Forschungsnetzwerk NRW-Agrar” in its response, organised an expert workshop in March 2010 focusing on “classification of risk management in agriculture”. The present project aims to apply the outcomes of this workshop to practice by means of case studies drawn from actual agricultural enterprises and design an applicable guideline “Risk Management in Agriculture”.
