Transcriptional and metabolic patterns of barley for basal disease resistance and susceptibility to powdery mildew
Project
Project code: TP B08
Contract period: 01.07.2011
- 30.06.2015
Budget: 510,526 Euro
Purpose of research: Basic research
We aim at understanding the mechanistic basis of quantitative resistance and susceptibility to barley to powdery mildew. Here, we use the data of preliminary and further transcriptomic analyses to understand the function of differentially expressed genes in wild type barley and RACB-transgenic barley with either enhanced or reduced susceptibility to powdery mildew. Pathways already in focus are cell wall modification and cell cycle. For deeper understanding of transcriptional patterns, we will employ reverse genetics, metabolic analysis, and cell biology of different barley genotypes.
