Lameness is also an important reason for the premature sow removals. Despite the prevalence of claw lesions, studies on claw lesions in pigs are limited. The aim of the examination was to analyze the status quo of claw lesions in sow farms in NRW to show relation between the sow keeping and frequency of claw lesions. The results show that the pad of the food is the main problem of the claw lesions of sows. On the second place were lesions of the horn.
