Purpose of research: Applied research

For several years, many businesses closed greenhouse irrigation water circulations used (closed systems). These systems have a positive impact on the environment because they reduce the discharge of nutrients and pesticides into the receiving waters. In addition, you lead the companies to significantly reduce water costs. To prevent the spread of water-borne pathogens, the irrigation water is treated by various methods and disinfected. Especially in the economically important production of begonia takes the pressure and other diseases by Fusarium sp. sharply in recent years. The project aims to introduce and test the automated chlorine dioxide disinfection of irrigation water in the practice of greenhouse plants. The method is widely used in drinking water treatment and chemical cleaning of reusable beverage bottles. The focus of the project is to assess the efficacy, dosage and possible impacts on plant tolerance or the sale of quality plants.
