Purpose of research: Experimental development
Based on the experience of the project partners, an electrically driven experimental model of a combine header is supposed to be realized, which meets the requirements of future generation platforms. Subgoals are to enlarge the functionality and thus the benefits of the platform by the excellent controllability of electrical drives. Also the saving of space and weight on the side panels of the header leads to improved functionality and increased power.To that the rotary drives of a combine header will be electrified. This will be realized by a closed system of generating, transforming, storing and transmitting electrical energy to appliances, including the energy management. Due to the new propulsion system architecture, caused by the electrical drive train, new possibilities in the design of functional elements, e.g. the cutterbar drive, arise. An implementation of different versions is considered and the preferred option is supposed to be implemented in the experimental model. Based on known load cycles, suitable electrical components for drives of functional elements are selected. Finally laboratory and field tests are performed for practical testing.
