Development and validation of an evaluation procedure for assessing the ecological status of small standing water bodies of the agricultural landscape
Project
Project code: JKI-ÖPV-08-1347
Contract period: 01.01.2016
- 31.12.2018
Purpose of research: Inventory & Assessment
Keywords: NAP, non-floating water, SPEAR
The assessment of the ecological status of small water bodies in the agricultural landscape is part of the implementation of the German national action plan on the sustainable use of plant protection products. This assessment should be based on the application of the SPEAR indicator which assesses pesticide pollution in streams. However, particularly small standing water bodies in the agricultural landscape suffer as well from eutrophication and habitat degradation. An extensive dataset on benthic invertebrates from small standing water bodies will be sampled in this project to test the suitability of different assessment methods for small standing water bodies (eg the German lake assessment tool AESHNA).
