Purpose of research: Inventory & Assessment
The institute performs risk assessments and evaluations of GMOs in agriculture and forestry in cooperation with national and international authorities. At EU level the safety of GMOs and derived products is evaluated by the GMO Panel of EFSA (European Food Safety Authority). The Panel's opinions are published by EFSA.
The nebulous contours of the protection objectives leave big space for specifying methodology and parameters of comparison. The limitations and potentials of extension of conventional methodology are investigated.
