The goal is to develop an intelligent Curtain-ventilation-sensor-system for dairy cattle farming, which can be controlled with a new system control and regulation unit using a network of sensors within the stables. This way, the various functional areas as well as the micro-climatic zones within the stable environment can be systematically optimised. A new lighting technology integrated into the Curtain additionally supports signalling and synchronisation of animal behaviour. The use of a cost-effective sensor technology also provides incentives for the monitoring of corrosive gases beyond legal requirements. An innovative tracking system furthermore allows the localisation of the animals and the recording of their movement behaviour, as well as the detection of the farmer. These factors may be taken into account as a control variable, achieving added value in regards to single workstation security. In order to generate a high level of user acceptance and user comfort, the sensors will be designed wireless and low-maintenance via a radio standard. A mobile app shall also allow the farmer an easy and user-friendly access for parameterisation and monitoring of the system. The procedure is planned as follows: •    System conception and specification •    Development and subsequent review of the first demonstrators in laboratory scale •    Further development and upscaling of the demonstrators for pre-field testing •    Development of a stable and animal sensor network •    Development of a system control and regulation unit •    Research for establishing a single workstation security system for farmers •    Development of an app for monitoring and controlling of the overall system •    Merge of system components as well as registration and assessment of animal behaviour in a field test
