Purpose of research: Applied research
Aim of Subproject 1 (SP1) is to permanently collect and summarize data on the impact of genome editing in plants (GE) on different levels. A comparison of the upcoming regulation concerning GEP will be done accompanied by the development of a road map providing guidance for a science-based product-oriented regulation procedure of new plant biotechnologies like GE. The aim of SP2 is to assess the positive (benefits) and negative (costs) effects of genome editing on socio-economy across the entire agricultural process chain and the society as a whole.
