Survey concerning the importance of geographic food origin for consumers
Project
Project code: BfR-EXPO-08-13xx-xxx
Contract period: 01.01.2019
- 31.12.2019
Purpose of research: Inventory & Assessment
Keywords: geographic food origin
As part of the doctorate with the topic “Refined exposure assessment using supply chain information” the influence of geographic origin on substance concentration and the effects on exposure scenarios are considered. Using existing and modified exposure scenarios different substances in foods were already regarded for origin relations. To check plausibility and for conception of realistic scenarios it is necessary to generate information on the current consumer attitude towards geographic food origin. Thereby the direct influence of origin on the purchase decision is of interest as well as further factors like brand loyalty and price loyalty which might be associated indirectly with a certain origin (e.g. through same supply relations for a brand or usage of poor raw materials for low-priced products).
