Project
Project code: EIP-Agri-Bay-2023-THBKW
Contract period: 01.01.2023
- 31.12.2025
Budget: 94,792 Euro
Purpose of research: Public relations
Keywords: animal husbandry, soil climate change
Currently, there are few regenerative demonstration farms in the grassland sector in Germany. The limited number invests a lot of time in research, trial and error, and training, and has little capacity to deal with the daily requests from other interested farmers. Learning and implementing regenerative methods on your own to gain a better understanding of more holistic management and key ecosystem processes is not an easy process without field experienced guidance. It therefore makes sense to design ways how an interested farmer - whether organic or conventional can be accompanied in a conversion phase of several years. This process shall also includes the request of learning from 'farmer to farmer' so that a well-supported, faster transition to resource-conserving, sustainable management can take place. At the same time, different methods will be tested and adapted.
