The We-Hold-Together App as a collaborative, local ecosystem to connect agriculture and consumers in the Schwabach valley
Project
Project code: EIP-Agri-Bay-2023-LPTTVVK
Contract period: 01.01.2023
- 31.12.2025
Budget: 95,895 Euro
Purpose of research: Applied research
Keywords: farming practice/activity, marketing/supply chain
In order to reduce dependencies on intermediaries and loss on margins, food producers are increasingly marketing directly. This is the basis for the elaboration of a so-called 'We-Hold-Together App'. The aim of the app is to expand the existing direct marketing network (for regional products of primary production) in the Schwabach Valley with aiming at increasing and securing the value added. The requirements for such an app have to been defined. However it will also consider how local communities join together to form collaborative ecosystems: Citizens could in the future, for example, use the app to create shopping lists and coordinate carpools to buy/pick up products from the farmer, thereby achieving social and sustainability goals.
