Contract period: 01.10.2012
- 30.04.2016
Purpose of research: Applied research
The study is looking at a wider complex situation linking Demography to natural resource management in West Africa. It aims to investigate how the living conditions, the productivity and the political and economic decisions that local farmers and herders take with regards to their resource use. It fills a void in knowledge by establishing the impact of Population dynamics (migrations, fertility rates, family changes) on environment strains reduction at individual, household and administrative-unit levels, thereby contributing to poverty-reduction policy review and strategies.
